The occasion was my wife's 70th birthday so my daughter and myself looked for a 'large house near the sea". This house more than fulfilled the brief. As a former owner of holiday rental property I can assure you that this house has seemingly everything necessary for a perfect holiday whether it be 3 or 7 days. We had a birthday get together with family, old school friends, cousins, and their children etc. About 35 people in total. We arranged local caterer. A perfect afternoon was the result. The house is of a style and layout that is perfect for a group holiday or event. The location of the house is such that is about a 3-4 minute walk to the sea and beach from the gate in the back fence. After the family left on the Sunday evening my wife and myself had three days to ourselves to discover the area - plenty to see and do. I can not recommend the house more than to say family and friends had a wonderful time. If you book this property I am sure you will not be disappointed. Colin

The living and sleeping spaces had everything we needed - we particularly loved the seating arrangements in the lounge, which was great for 7 friends catching up, and the large sliding doors out onto the patio were lovely to have open during the day. If you didn’t want to go out and about into Poole, this house is spacious enough to stay home all day and relax with loads of board games and places to sit - inside and outside. We made use of Megan’s dining recommendation and had Christian from Salt Co in to cook for us one evening which was great fun. We absolutely loved our stay at The Houseboat and would love to come back again. Thank you Megan for a wonderful welcoming hamper and for being a brilliant host.

We had a great time staying at the Houseboat. It is a house in a million with bags of character and style to die for. Plenty of room to chill... read more and spread out and sitting on the deck enjoying the sunset was a particular joy. Would recommend Christian the chef for an extra special occasion, and Ghost Walks of Poole is fascinating and atmospheric. But mainly the ideal place for putting your feet up and enjoying the luxury.

The kitchen is well stocked and a pleasure to cook in. If you fancy a treat hire the Chef Christian for a luxury meal cooked to order in front of you, we had one and it was excellent, and good value. Megan who runs the housekeeping is very friendly and can’t do enough for you. We had a great time and will be back again soon!

This place is the essence of architecture and interior design. In early July 2020 we spent a week in this wonderful place and we absolutely loved it. The house was spotless, incredibly well equipped with a fantastic double oven and a large fridge. The bedrooms are spacious and nicely decorated. The linen was like a 5* hotel style. The generous welcome pack was much appreciated. Megan has been wonderful throughout our stay. She is very professional, genuinely caring and ready to make your stay unforgettable. She is always at your disposal. We also had the pleasure to meet Roger, the visionary architect behind this impressive project. He is a wonderful person that with a soft spoken voice explained with passion details of his creation. We will definitely make the Houseboat our regular gateway. Yasmina&Fabio

We have recently enjoyed the most wonderful stay at the exquisite, architecturally designed houseboat. The property is incredibly spacious with light flooding in through the the windows on every level. We... read more felt immediately at peace and at home at what is probably the best holiday accommodation we have had the pleasure of staying at in Britain. The location of the houseboat with its immediate views of the sea and the common is spectacular . The houseboat is also within easy reach of Sandbanks and the beautiful Lulworth Cove. Hamworthy park, which is within walking distance is also very much worth a visit, with its direct access to the sea and it pastel coloured beach huts. We would also like to thank Megan for her great communication throughout. We all enjoyed our visit so much, and would love to return in the not so distant future.
